Madi Murata, from Torrance, California, is attending Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona where she will major in sociology with an emphasis in social work. At the early age of 8, Madi saw how dangerous distracted driving and making poor decisions can greatly impact your life when she attended events her mom had planned as a SADD advisor at a high school. Being so impacted by this, she helped to start a SADD chapter at her own high school. This past year, Madi was blessed with the opportunity to serve on the inaugural TextLess Live More Engagement Board. In addition, she served her school as Head Captain of Drill and All Male Dance Team, Secretary of Inter-Club Council, and SADD President. Madi has been a competitive dancer for 13 years now and hopes to continue dancing through college. In her free time she loves spending time with family and friends, finding new foodie stops, and learning new things. She is extremely excited to work with the CAC and SLC this coming year and cannot wait to see all the amazing things they will accomplish together.
